I started the Marine Police Diving Services Unit with a fellow American police officer Steve Saenz in April 2002. The team consists of four East Timorese Marine Police officers trained in basic open water through PADI.  We have recently begun our law enforcement search and recovery training which will be completed early next year. The divers underwent a rigorous selection program before I chose the four out of seven applicants.
